Design Spotlight: Black Furniture
One of our signature black furniture pieces may be the perfect way to add a dash of understated refinement to your home or office.
Blackened wood furniture can be a great way to add balance to any space since black is neither cool nor warm, unlike natural toned wood.
How do you make black furniture?
To achieve this look, the wood is treated with a black stain, which adds definition in the grain pattern. Our favorite types of wood to use for these commissions are white oak and ash.
The contrast of black furniture is an easy way to add visual interest and make a space feel more dynamic.
Black Furniture to Set the Mood
‘Halo’ Black Fluted Pedestal Dining Table
Our best-selling Halo pedestal dining table features a solid wood circular top with a fluted pedestal base, using our larger semi-circular tambour. Halo always works beautifully in otherwise understated or minimalist spaces.
‘Zodiac’ Mid-Century Style Dining Chair
Zodiac is a modern dining chair that blends sculptural form with architectural structure. Defined by its angular stance and hand-sculpted seat, the chair is designed to feel grounded yet visually weightless. Zodiac’s refined silhouette, inspired by the designs of Pierre Jeanneret, strikes the perfect balance of comfort and craftsmanship.

‘Gravity’ Black Low Profile Square Coffee Table
Gravity is a low-profile, square coffee table treated with black dye to give the wood an oxidized appearance. Gravity is one of our thickest pieces to date, featuring a 4” top with equally thick legs. Gravity’s weighty construction is offset by the soft curves of its recessed, pill-shaped cylindrical bases.

‘Curve’ Sculptural Coffee Table
Curve is a sculptural coffee table defined by a continuous flowing form that feels both architectural and soft.
