The Sam Jacobs Beit-Midrash
In one of our largest projects to date, we completely refurbished the Beit-Midrash for Congregation Beth El in their Administration Building. The space is dedicated to past president and esteemed member, Sam Jacobs.
In collaboration with Kirstin Nielson of Stone Laine Design and Lyn Kaplan of LK Design, we were able to help breathe new life into this space. The vision was a harmonious balance between solid European Beech wood with brass and tambour accent details.
lIGHTED arc & fluted bimah
The most eye-catching installation is the Ark, located front and center of the room. The Ark features dual stained glass side panels fabricated by Plachte-Zuieback Art Glass. The center sculpture light (Ner-tamid) was created by Robert Verhees at V5 Studios. The Bimah has push-to-open cabinet shelves for storage and a brass toe kick with recessed wheels.

fLUTED LECTERN & tzedakah box
The fluted Lectern features a 3” brass toe kick with recessed wheels, complementary to the Bimah & ‘Solstice’ table. There is a speaker-facing hidden shelf for text storage.
The matching Tzedakah box has a brass inlay with embossed Hebrew text. The lid is removable and also has a slot in the handle for donations.

Solstice CONFERENCE TABLE W/ BRASS base
The ‘Solstice’ conference table features two fluted rectangular bases and a 3” brass toe kick, consistent with the other statement pieces in the room. ‘Solstice’ has a rectangular top and soft, rounded edges that mimic our Parallax and Prism tables. The table is 10’ long with recessed 1” wheels and can seat 8-10 people comfortable.

fluted Bookshelf & Inset display shelves
The fluted built-in bookshelf was made to fit flush with the wall to help funnel people into the space. It features an open partition with 30 solid ½”brass rods to hold prayer shawls. One of our favorite details of this piece is the continuous wood grain across the push-to-open cabinet doors.
The matching inset display shelves feature built-in lighting, set back 1” from front face.
